FALL ARRANGEMENTS

The chill in the air today tells me that Fall has arrived. Make entertaining easy with these easy Fall arrangements made from clippings from the garden and a few fresh flowers from the florist.

This is an easy arrangement made in a plant saucer holding oasis and filled with fall leaves, a variety of mums, fresh artichokes, and topped with a unique pumpkin. Great for a dining room table.

Take a decorative cachepot and add oasis. Fill the container with a variety of leaves including nandina, maple, pittosporum, and dogwood. Next add garden hydrangeas and fresh apples attached by florist pics. This is great for a sideboard or coffee table.

This arrangement screams Fall. Take a glass cylinder vase and put 2 large heavy duty rubber bands around it. Next take Indian corn (remove the husks) and place in between the rubber bands around the vase. Use a decorative ribbon to tie around the vase and hide the rubber bands. Fill the vase with a variety of fall leaves and flowers from the garden. To finish off this arrangement, add fall leaves and decorative gourds around the base of the arrangement. IN STYLE?

I often hear many people ask if their current decor is in style. I had a wise designer tell me that if you like it & it feels comfortable to you, then it is in style. We too often decorate our homes to please or impress others. I love going into a home that is purely eclectic & a little disheveled. I can see a person's personality in their collections & objects they proudly display. We try to do that same thing in our shop displays. I know "themes" are the thing in most shops, but I like to show how you can add any beautiful object into your home with ease. Choosing a color in different mediums & textures is a great way to update an existing decor. I always like to soften a room with beautiful florals & vibrant pillows. Small, independent shops like Evelyn's are the perfect place to find the most unique objects for your home. We search out great items that cannot be found at the big box stores. These will make your home look unique & not like your neighbor's home. And small shops will give you the individual service that is so hard to find in mass merchant stores. I always tell people to buy the best they can afford. Simply buying a lot of cheap product to fill your home will only give it a cheap look. You will be proud to have those special objects that show craftsmanship & great style. As summer begins to fade away, we will begin to transition the shop for fall. Now is the perfect time to infuse some style into your your home. And, we will always be glad to help you express your style in your home.

EVELYN'S SPRING EVENING OF DESIGN

Our Spring Evening of Design was a huge success raising $600.00 for the Barnwell County Arts County. Attendees learned great entertaining tips and the art of floral arranging. Enjoy our video of the evening. We will soon post the recipes that you all loved!

DREAMING OF SPRING

The warm weather we had recently had me & the shop dreaming of an early Spring. Although reality hit with cold & raining weather, the shop is filled with beautiful Spring florals that will brighten even the dreariest of days. You will love our selection of hydrangeas, Queen Anne's lace, orchids, peach blossoms, & more to freshen up your home. Come in soon & take a little bit of sunshine home with you.

CHRISTMAS DECORATING

Christmas is the time of year we festoon our homes with all the finery that brings back wonderful memories & joy. Recently I spoke at a garden club and showed how to decorate your home with wonderful & fragrant clippings from the garden.
The entrance table was decorated with a large Tuscan footed urn filled with an abundance of fresh cedar, pine, magnolia, nandina, holly, & umbrella palm. A set of 3 glittery bottle brush trees completes the look.
The dining table was set with a beautiful magnolia garland complimented with blue & white vases and mercury glass vases filled with cedar, pine & holly. The buffet featured a yellow Tuscan grapes cachepot filled with cedar & nandina and topped with a red gazing ball.
The mantle featured a classic magnolia garland topped with a silk plaid ribbon. An extra tall Tuscan vase was filled with umbrella palm and red flowering branches. Tall red candles completed the look of the mantle
